Power Within
We all know on some level that we possess an infinite and amazing power within ourselves. This power allows us to create and experience anything we choose. However, at different points in our lives we lose sight of this power and we do not use it to our full potential. At other times we use it to our own amazement.

So how do we access the power within?

In order to access the power within, it is necessary to trust in yourself, in the power you have to do anything you want to. It is a logical assertion that when we fail to put our full trust in ourselves we may easily succumb to doubts of what we are able to accomplish.

When we do not use our power, we lose sight of it and fall into bad habits rendering ourselves powerless.

However, when we do use this power we may become free of fear, live peacefully and express our power to others.

Finding the power within yourself is a fun and enjoyable process because it is an affirmation of your truest identity.

Tactics to Access The Power Within

Trust in your own talents and abilities- when we are able to put our full confidence in our talents, we often amaze ourselves at what we are able to accomplish. When you feel a lack of self-confidence, remember that we are all human and everyone started off as a beginner at some point. When witnessing a great feat made by the human race, keep it as a reminder of the amazing potential in each and every one of us. Do not set limits on what you are able to create in your life.

Become present – reading the book the Power of Now completely changed my outlook on life. When you focus your attention on the present moment you become more fully conscious, leaving behind a lot of useless suffering that you unconsciously create in your life. Incessant thinking leads to unwanted worrying and stress in our lives. One way to achieve more awareness is to be fully aware of your senses while you carry out any task. You can start out by practicing doing it during any routine you would normally consider mundane. For more information read the book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. I truly suggest it to all.

Practice Meditation- meditation is a practice that goes hand in hand with accessing the power of now. Meditation helps you to focus your attention on the “here and now”. When you are in touch with your inner self, you may find a power you never even knew you had.

Believe In Yourself - a very important part of living with power is believing in yourself. Believe in the power that you have within you fully: you REALLY can do whatever you set your mind to. Have faith in yourself and you will.

Set Small Attainable Goals- as far as tactics for self-confidence go, setting small attainable goals is one of the best. Some of us like to see results from our efforts, so small goals will help you observe your power in action while you gain self-confidence.

Get Hypnotized- hypnosis can help you in your efforts to believe in yourself and in accessing your subconscious mind. You can either visit a hypnotist or buy hypnosis recordings on CD to listen to at your leisure.

Let Go of Fear – make a conscious decision to let go of any fear that may be holding you back. This fear is ultimately an illusion and is acting as an obstacle. Realize that it does not exist in ultimate reality but that you are creating it. You can do anything you want to. Don’t ever believe anything otherwise. Also, do not be afraid of being too great. When you are great you set an example for others. Think of spiritual teachers like Ghandi, Jesus, and Buddha who set new boundaries for greatness.

To quote the great Marianne Williamson…

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
